Terms of Service & Privacy Policy for Good Lock

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms govern the relationship between the user ("User") and the developer ("Company") regarding the use of the "Good Lock" application (the "Service"), defining rights, obligations, liabilities, and procedures related to the processing of personal information.

Article 2 (Service Introduction)

• "Good Lock" is a lock screen customization application that allows users to utilize various functional features directly on their lock screen in a stylish layout.
• All services and contents are provided free of charge and contain third-party advertisements.

Article 3 (Privacy Policy)

1. Collection of Personal Information and Permissions

• The Service does not require traditional user registration or sign-ups, and does not directly collect or store personally identifiable information (such as names, emails, or phone numbers) on remote servers.
• However, to facilitate the "Mini Home contact search and registration" feature within the app, the Service requests and utilizes the **Contact (Address Book) Permission** on the device, subject to user consent.

2. Data Usage and Security (Declaration of Ephemeral Processing)

• Any contact information accessed to run app features is processed solely on an **ephemeral basis** to display contacts and perform registration.
• This data is never transmitted to external developer servers nor stored separately; it is destroyed from device memory immediately after the feature runs. This design keeps the risk of data leakage to a minimum.

3. Third-Party Sharing and Provision

• To sustain free operations, the Service integrates third-party advertising libraries. Ads are delivered through AppLovin, together with ad networks connected via AppLovin such as Pangle, Meta and Liftoff. Depending on the app version, Kakao AdFit may also be included.
• During this process, these third-party ad networks may collect and share the user's **Device or Other IDs (e.g., Google Advertising ID)** for ad delivery, analytics, and fraud prevention.
• Aside from this, no sensitive personal information, including the user's contacts, is ever shared with or provided to third parties.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Service does not use proprietary cookies or independent user tracking technologies.

5. User Rights and Data Deletion

• Users can revoke or adjust system permissions (such as Contacts) at any time through their smartphone's system settings.
• Since the Service does not remotely store user personal information on servers, no separate deletion procedure (such as account deletion) is required. What you set up and write in the app is stored only on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.
• The advertising identifiers described in Article 3.3 are handled under each ad provider's own policy. You can reset your device's advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads at any time in your Android settings.

6. Data Retention Period

Data accessed for app operations is immediately destroyed after ephemeral processing; therefore, no retention period exists on any server operated by this Service. Retention of the advertising identifiers described in Article 3.3 follows each ad provider's own policy.

Article 4 (Service Contents and Features)

• Style: Combines diverse wallpapers and widgets to complete a personalized lock screen style.
• Wallpapers: Employs assets from Unsplash, Pexels, and custom AI images generated via Midjourney or Stable Diffusion.
• Widgets: Provides various widgets including Clock, Calendar/Schedule, and Music Player.
• Memo: Write and check memos directly on the lock screen.
• Bus Arrival Info: Displays bus arrival details retrieved from the Public Data Portal (data.go.kr).
• Tok Tok: Double-tap the lock screen to quickly launch a preconfigured application.
• Mini Home: Manage and quickly launch contacts, applications, and bookmarks.

Article 5 (Permissions)

To use the Service smoothly, the following required permission is necessary:

• Display over other apps (Overlay): Essential to display the lock screen and guarantee uninterrupted service.

To use the Service smoothly, the following optional permissions may be requested:

• Contacts: Used to search and easily register contacts from the device.
• Music and Audio: To import audio files locally.
• Calendar: To display Google Calendar schedules.
• Notifications: To generate active notification bars.

Article 6 (Advertisements)

The Service is provided for free and contains advertisements to maintain its operations. Ad contents are served by third-party advertising networks.

Article 7 (Limitation of Liability)

• The developer is not liable for damages arising from errors, service interruptions, or inaccuracies in the information provided. This does not limit liability for damages caused by the developer's willful misconduct or gross negligence, which remains subject to applicable law.
• The developer is not liable for service interruptions or errors arising from force majeure beyond its control, including natural disasters, DDoS attacks, failures at the server hosting provider, outages at telecommunications carriers, and failures or changes in data supplied by external sources such as the Public Data Portal.
• Otherwise, users are responsible for damages arising from causes attributable to them.

Article 8 (Copyright and Intellectual Property)

• The copyright for all content provided in the Service belongs to their respective owners.
• Users may not copy, distribute, or modify the contents provided through this Service without authorization.

Article 9 (Modification and Suspension of Service)

• "Good Lock" reserves the right to modify the contents of the Service as necessary.
• Because this Service does not involve user accounts or logins, push notifications cannot be sent. Consequently, we cannot provide advance notice regarding service changes or suspension. Please use the Service with this structure in mind.
• The Service may be temporarily suspended due to technical issues or system maintenance.

Article 10 (Amendment of Terms)

• These Terms and Privacy Policy are subject to change. Updates will be announced via in-app notifications.
• If users do not agree to the amended terms, they may cease using the Service.
